What is an Emory Healthcare Hospitalist?

Emory Healthcare (EHC) Hospitalists are board-certified or board-eligible internal medicine physicians who specialize in caring for hospitalized patients.

How does an EHC Hospitalist benefit you?

EHC Hospitalists work as a team to ensure patients and their families receive appropriate, high-quality and safe care. We keep you informed about your care in the hospital. Emory Hospitalists are on site 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year to make sure you get the best care.

What can I expect during my hospital stay?
  • Daily visits by the EHC Hospitalist
  • Frequent communication with nursing and other hospital staff
  • Caregivers who will answer your questions and concerns
  • Family meeting(s) regarding your care facilitated by a
    Hospitalist (if needed)
  • Communication between the EHC Hospitalist team and
    your primary care physician
What can I expect when I leave the hospital?
  • Transfer of appropriate records to your primary care physician
  • Prescriptions for all necessary medications
  • Help scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Help with any general concerns or billing questions
Who should I call if I have concerns?
  • If you have a concern while hospitalized, call 404-778-6382.
  • For questions regarding your hospital bill, call the hospital accounting department phone number listed on your statement.
  • For questions regarding your physician bill from The Emory Clinic, call customer service at 404-778-7310.
  • If you have concerns after discharge, please contact your
    primary care physician.
